Golf Like The Pros
Whether you’ve been playing golf for years or just took up the game, North Sound Golf Club will make you feel right at home in Grand Cayman.
Mastering Grand Cayman's Golfing Scene
It’s the only 18-hole championship course in the Cayman Islands, with gorgeous views from all 6,605 yards of this par 71 course. The signature 11th hole is especially picturesque—and a bit demanding, calling for a power shot over water to keep a double bogey off your scorecard. In fact, hitting a driver is not uncommon for this long par 3.
But what’s really special about North Sound is how friendly and welcoming they are to golfers of all levels. Novices will be grateful for the five sets of tee boxes. Advanced players will appreciate being tested by prevailing trade winds—if it’s breezy, bring extra balls—and water, water everywhere, factoring into how you play almost every hole.
Designed by England’s Roy Case in 1994, this is a links-style layout built in the style of traditional Scottish courses. The natural landscape was disturbed as little as possible so that everyone can enjoy the rolling terrain of coconut palms, mahogany and silver thatch, not to mention the occasional iguana lounging in the sun. (If only they could be trained to fetch wayward golf balls.)
Beyond the greens, North Sound Golf Club also offers instruction from PGA pros, a fully stocked pro shop and “the island’s friendliest open-air bar.” We like the sound of that.
The concierge at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa will be happy to arrange your tee time.
